UI setup
Getting started
Section titled “Getting started”A good User Interface (UI) provides condensed, relevant details at a glance, helping you make quick decisions. The challenge is balancing useful tools with clarity—too much clutter can be overwhelming, but too little information can leave you unprepared. Focus on:
- Seeing target priority
- Tracking important enemy casts
- Noticing tank busters and group-wide AoE
This information helps you use interrupts (kicks) and defensives to keep yourself and your teammates alive. The sections below will guide you through the core components and recommended tools for building a strong UI.
Core Components of a Good UI
Section titled “Core Components of a Good UI”- Interface Setup: Organize your action bars, unit frames, and other elements so that important information is easy to see and react to. See the Laptop Interface Example for a recommended setup.
- Nameplates: (Plater) Nameplates help you track enemy casts, debuffs, and threat. Customizing nameplates can make it easier to spot dangerous abilities. See the Custom Plater Profile for advanced nameplate settings.
- Keybinds: Efficient keybinds allow you to react quickly and use abilities without looking at your keyboard. See the Laptop Interface Example for keybind layouts.
Additional Tools
Section titled “Additional Tools”- OmniCD: Track cooldowns of party and raid members to coordinate defensives and interrupts. See the Firnen OmniCD Profile for recommended settings.
- Details: Use Details to analyze your performance and improve your gameplay. See the Firnen Details Profile for sample setups.
